# DoorLink

DoorLink lleva las llamadas del frente de calle al celular de cada residente,
con video y apertura remota de la puerta, sin recablear el edificio. Funciona
en edificios de toda Argentina.

Funciona con el portero esté como esté, y ese es el punto clave:

- Si el portero del edificio anda bien, DoorLink se instala encima sin
  cambiarle la apariencia ni el frente de calle.
- Si el portero falla, o si la señal no llega a una unidad concreta porque el
  tramo de cable que sube hasta ese departamento está dañado, DoorLink igual
  sirve: el módulo se conecta en la botonera del frente de calle y manda la
  llamada por internet, así que el cableado roto que sube por la pared deja de
  usarse. No hay que abrir paredes ni cambiar caños, y los vecinos a los que
  sí les funciona el portero no ven ningún cambio.
- Si no hay portero, o el que hay fue robado o está destruido, DoorLink se
  instala completo, con frente de calle propio: reemplaza al portero en lugar
  de complementarlo.

En todos los casos el visitante toca un botón físico y no necesita celular,
datos ni app (a diferencia de un portero QR). En las instalaciones sobre un
portero existente los tubos internos siguen funcionando, y la app se atiende
como una videollamada de WhatsApp, viendo por cámara quién está en la puerta.
El panel tiene alarma antivandálica: si intentan forzarlo o arrancarlo, el
sistema da aviso. Cada departamento administra sus propios celulares desde la
app: cada vecino se suma escaneando un código QR o escribiendo un código de
tres palabras, los permisos son por dispositivo (abrir la puerta o solo
atender, con horario opcional), y cada persona elige si le suena apenas tocan
o con 15 segundos de demora cuando no está en casa, para que atienda primero
quien está en el departamento. Silenciar se hace desde el inicio de la app y
es solo para esa persona: a los demás les sigue sonando.

Los residentes lo usan sobre todo por tres motivos: seguridad (se ve por
cámara quién toca antes de abrir, y la llamada te suena en el celular estés
donde estés, así que siempre hay alguien para atender aunque no estés en el
departamento), accesibilidad (nadie tiene que cruzar el
departamento hasta el portero antes de que corten, lo que importa para
adultos mayores y personas con movilidad reducida) y paquetes (se atiende al
repartidor desde cualquier lado: se le abre, se le indica dónde dejarlo o se
le pide que se lo deje a un vecino o al encargado).

## Precios

- Instalación: costo único de entre USD 500 y USD 900 (según complejidad y
  cantidad de unidades), con el hardware incluido.
- Servicio mensual: USD 8 por departamento, con un piso de USD 3 en zonas de
  menores ingresos. Se factura al consorcio/edificio, no a cada residente.
- El sitio muestra el equivalente en ARS al tipo de cambio oficial del día.

## Compatibilidad

Funciona con los porteros eléctricos de cableado 4+n y 5+n hilos que usa la
mayoría de los edificios en Argentina (Commax, Fermax y similares). No hace
falta cambiar el frente de calle. Y si el edificio no tiene portero, o el que
tiene ya no tiene arreglo, DoorLink instala el frente de calle.

No es requisito que el portero funcione: alcanza con poder conectar el módulo
en la botonera del frente de calle, o con instalar una nueva.

It works whatever state the intercom is in, which is the key point:

- If the building's intercom works, DoorLink installs on top of it without
  changing the street panel or how it looks.
- If the intercom is failing, or the signal never reaches one particular unit
  because the run of cable going up to that apartment is damaged, DoorLink
  still works: the module connects at the street panel and sends the call over
  the internet, so the broken wiring inside the wall stops being used. No
  opening walls, no replacing conduits, and neighbors whose intercom does work
  see no change at all.
- If there is no intercom, or the existing one was stolen or wrecked, DoorLink
  is installed complete with its own street panel — replacing the intercom
  rather than complementing it.

In every case visitors press a physical button and need no phone, data or app
(unlike QR intercoms). On retrofit installs the indoor handsets keep working,
and the app answers like a WhatsApp video call, showing on camera who is at
the door.
The panel has an anti-vandalism alarm: if someone tries to force or rip it
out, the system raises an alert. Each apartment manages its own phones from
the app: residents join by scanning a QR code or typing a three-word code,
permissions are per device (open the door or answer only, with an optional
time window), and each person chooses whether it rings them right away or
after a 15-second delay when they're out, so whoever is in the apartment
answers first. Muting is one tap on the app's home screen and applies only to
that person: everyone else in the apartment still gets the call.

Residents mainly use it for three reasons: security (you see on camera who is
ringing before opening, and the call rings your phone wherever you are, so
there's always someone to answer even when you're not in the apartment),
accessibility (nobody has to cross the apartment to
reach the intercom before the call drops, which matters for older residents
and people with limited mobility) and deliveries (you answer the courier from
anywhere: buzz them in, tell them where to leave the package, or ask them to
hand it to a neighbor or the building manager).

Pricing: one-time installation of USD 500–900 (hardware included, depending on
complexity and unit count), plus a USD 8/month per-apartment service fee (USD
3 floor in lower-income areas), billed to the building's HOA. The site shows a
live ARS conversion at the official exchange rate.

Compatibility: works with the 4+n and 5+n wire intercom systems used by most
Argentine buildings (Commax, Fermax, and similar), no street-panel changes.
A working intercom is not a prerequisite: it is enough to be able to connect
the module at the street panel, or to install a new panel.
